Christians graduated

OMG my little man has graduated from primary school and I am so proud of him! Passed all subjects with an A and a couple of Bs thrown in, his teachers praised his efforts all year especially taking on the role of SRC at the start of the year. Here's a couple of happy snaps from the night

Christian and his teacher :)

So we left Christian and went for dinner so he could rock out with his school mates. Caitlyn and I went to Happy gardens and we left so full!

Caitlyn mentioned to the waitress she was pretty, check out our takeaway dishes!

All in all great night :)

Gove anyone...

Sorry for the gaps in posting I am hoping to catch up and post some more pics of what we have been up to but in the interim I'm in Gove or Nhulunbuy for us NT locals lol

The Rio Tinto Refinery announced it was closing in November 2013. As of last night the shut down the steam power station which was the final part of the original plant to close. No alumina had been shipped since August and now they just transport the ore from the ground, across 23 klm of conveyor to the awaiting tankers. The town is empty, it actually feels like a ghost town. It's a former shadow of itself with the population dropping from a buzzing 4500 to just over 1000. Oh how things have changed since my last visit.

Here's a couple of snaps from the hour I spent sight seeing ;-)

Was a lovely afternoon for a beach walk... Me... I just took photos and jumped back in my air-conditioned car :)
